Not Replacement Theology - Remnant Theology

Jesus is the root of Jesse (Isa 11:!0), he is the foundation of the new Covenant - a better covenant, established on better promises, which is also (Hebrews 8:6), and expanded to include gentiles (Rom 11:17). So, while the leaders and the majority of Israel may have rejected the Messiah (Rom 9), the remnant (faithful Israel) is the foundation of the Church. The first Christians were Jewish, and the Apostles and Prophets who make up the foundation of the church are Jewish (Eph 2:20). And obviously our Lord is also Jewish. All of God's promises are fulfilled in him (Rom 15:8). So I do think God's promises are contingent upon receiving the Messiah. But I do not call this "replacement theology" that assumes that God stopped being the God of Israel and became the God of the Gentiles.
